A few words...

I'm finally off of Tumblr! I've had it for about a year and a half, and while it was fun while it lasted, it got to be too much of a hassle in the end. I was wasting a lot of time on it and there are so many better and more productive things to do with my time! I don't need the distraction!

One thing that disturbed me was the last Tumblr message I recieved. It went on about how people in colleges were talking about me, and how there is a lot to find out about me through my Tumblr and my blog. Apparently, my blog is "judge-worthy." First off, I would like to say that I hate complaining and ranting but I can't get this off of my mind. Secondly, this blog is not my life. It is a part of it, I don't deny that, but my whole life is not documented on this blog, and my whole life is not consumed with this blog. I'm sure that every blogger like me can say that about themselves and what they do. I love writing "The Pink and Green Prep", so an anonymous message making me doubt writing this blog really annoys me. I started writing this blog really because I don't have the similarities with my close friends to talk about girly stuff with. In order that I didn't explode, I started the Pink and Green Prep so I could talk about my love for Lilly and all things pink and green. It was a fun way to "vent" about my style and my fashion must-haves.

My whole identity is definitely not that I wear a lot of Lilly and my clothes are preppy. Yes, it's part of who I am, but my whole life does not revolve around it. I think that the anons who make aggravating comments don't realize that there is more to me than just this blog. It's true that y'all aren't shown other parts of my life, but that's how I like it. Thirdly, I really don't think I give out a ton of information here. There is nothing personal on this blog other than my name, my age, and where I'm from. I say what I like and dislike about clothes, but there is nothing serious. I try to keep my opinions of "larger" issues off of the blog. Other than that, I really don't think that there is anything "judge-worthy" on the blog!

I don't like that I let a stupid anon comment get to me. I don't like that the comment said that "people" in colleges were talking about me, specifically how I was "snobby" and "prep." I am one of the least snobby people I know! And I'm not just saying that! Also, how is being "prep" a negative thing? Okay, so I wear clothes that are viewed as being preppy, but I don't  look down on people who dress differently than me. I'm not a mean girl who judges the girl who doesn't wear something from Lilly Pulitzer. I'm not a judgey person at all, and I am definitely not a snob.

So, if the anon who wrote that message is reading this, I hope you understand that it was wrong of you to base your assumption of me off of this blog. Seriously, it's a blog about clothes and my favorite pink and green goodies. It's not my identity, it's not real life.

I really love my blog and I really don't love when people make me doubt what I've been doing. Y'all have been so supportive right from the beginning, and I really appreciate all the things you have said, as well as all the advice you have given me. I'm sorry that I deleted the Tumblr, and I'm not going to lie that the anon comment contributed to the deletion. It was an in-the-moment decision but it was the right thing to do for me!

I hope y'all have a lovely day!

Airplane Etiquette

Not to start off on a sour note, but I absolutely hate flying. Airports, airplanes, the whole experience. I am afraid of heights, especially airplanes. I know there is a greater chance of me being killed in a car accident then the airplane falling to its death while I'm in it...but still.

I have personally being on a lot of flights this past year (mainly because of college visits), so my family and I have seen a lot of interesting behavior while at the airport. Yes, it's fun to people watch, but wouldn't it be embarrassing if you were the one that everyone can't stop looking at?

If any of y'all have read the book "Classy" by Derek Blasberg, there is a great picture detailing what to wear and what NOT to wear whilst at the airport. It's such a funny book and it actually offers tons of great advice on social etiquette. Anyway, it is imperative to not look like a slob while you're at an airport. Now, that doesn't mean wear an evening gown on a 5-hour flight, but it's not that hard to put on a nice pair of jeans, comfortable (and easily removable for the security line) shoes, and a pretty sweater!! You can't go wrong with that outfit!! I've had friends wear pajamas with me on flights before, and while I love them dearly, it's just not the time or place. It sounds awful, but people working at the airport take you more seriously if you're dressed better. I'll take anything that makes the flying experience better!!

Don't be the gremlin. Seriously. Don't. It's obnoxious and frankly rude to be annoying at the airport or on an airplane. Since the main 3 airports I go to are LaGuardia, JFK and Westchester, I've seen my fair share of "gremlins"...just be nice to everyone!!

Sorry if this came off as a harsh post, but I'm currently in the Memphis airport waiting to go home and I was inspired to write this!

On another note, HOW WAS DOWNTON LAST NIGHT?? I didn't get a chance to see it and I'm freaking out, I can't wait!! I had a family BBQ and I'm waiting to watch the Downton Abbey finale tomorrow night when I'm reunited with my mother.

Have a great day!!
