What to Wear to Class

I've finally! gotten into the groove of choosing my outfits for class! My schedule is actually really good, so I'll explain how I choose what to wear with what classes I take for each day.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have 3-4 classes per day. So, since I'll be out and about, I like to dress cuter than I would if I were just going to the library or the gym.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I only have 1 class in the morning, so I'll just wake up and put a t-shirt or norts/yoga pants. Soo much better!

What do y'all like to wear to class? Let me know!
Have a great day!!

Country Concert!

Hi y'all! I am way too excited because my family just got surprised with tickets to see Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw in concert tonight! Jake Owen (swoon) and Grace Potters and the Nocturnals are the opening acts. But mainly, I get to see TIM MCGRAW. I absolutely adore him, movies and music and all!

I've already planned out my outfit (of course). A couple of months ago I went to H&M with my friend and I found the best little black dress ever for country concerts, gamedays, and just hanging out! It's super casual and comfortable. I'm pairing it with cowboy boots (duh), pearls, my monogrammed necklace, and aviators. Having never been to a country concert before, I hope this is the right thing to wear!

I actually wore this outfit recently to go out to dinner!
What country concerts have y'all been to? Do y'all like Kenny and Tim? Let me know!

Have a great day!

Prepping for Gameday

One of the things that I'm most excited about for college is FOOTBALL SEASON! My high school didn't have a football team (much to my and my father's chagrin), so I didn't get the chance to have the full "high school experience" with Friday night football and high school spirit! My first gameday is September 1st, and I'm already planning what I'm wearing to some of the Wake gamedays.

I have separated my gameday outfits into 2 separate groups: the preppy sundresses for warmer weather, and Wake's school colors for the colder games.

(1) Lilly Pulitzer Worth Shift in Multi Sailor Patch with Monogrammed Navy Jack Rogers

(2) Lilly Pulitzer Ferra Dress in Call me Kitty Cat with White Jack Rogers

(3) Just Madras Jennifer Dress in Pink Seersucker with Gold Jack Rogers

(4) Lilly Pulitzer Lottie Dress in Multi You Gotta Regatta with Light Pink Jack Rogers

I have researched around and have found out that most girls at Wake, like many girls at other Southern schools, wear cute sundresses for football games! This makes me so happy! I am very excited to wear some adorable sundresses for the games at the beginning of the season. Of course, I'm going to be pairing my dresses with pearls and Jack Rogers!

(1) Lilly Pulitzer Cassie Dress Slub in Black with Lilly Pulitzer Gold McKim Sandals

(2) Lilly Pulitzer White Elsa Tissue Top with Dark Wash Skinny Jeans, Madewell Riding Boots, a Marley Lilly Black and Gold Monogrammed Scarf and a Smathers and Branson Black and Gold Headband

(3) H&M Black Dress with Gold Bangles, Ray Ban Aviators, and Cowboy Boots

When it gets colder, I will definitely be wearing clothes that show a little bit more school spirit! Wake's colors are black and gold, which makes it super easy to buy gameday clothes. It's so easy to find black dresses and gold accessories!

What do y'all think of my ideas for gameday outfits? Please let me know if I'm heading in the right/wrong direction! Also, do I need anything else for gameday??

Have a fabulous day!!

Summer Outfits

Summer is my favorite season because of the sun and the outfits I get to wear! It sounds very shallow, but I love the colors and choices available for fun summer outfits.

The two outfits shown above are kind of my go-to things to wear for the past couple of weeks. I got the denim mini at the J. Crew outlet (on super sale...I love it!) and I can pair it with SO MANY tops! I like the J. Crew gingham shirt because it's really light and comfortable, and I also like to wear the skirt with a v-neck t-shirt (like this one at Vineyard Vines). The second outfit is one of my favorites. The white eyelet top was honestly the best purchase of the year from Lilly Pulitzer, I wear it all of the time with so many shorts/pants! The shorts shown above are so pretty because of the scalloped edge and I just am obsessed with the print. I really only wear sandals in the summer, and I am so happy about buying the Kate Spade sandals shown above. They were on super sale (yay!) and they're really comfortable. Jack Rogers are, of course, my go-to shoes!

While half of the time I am in shorts and a cute top, the other half of the time I am in a Lilly Pulitzer dress. I am a huge fan of the classic shift dress paired with Jack's. It's comfortable, flattering, and I always recieve compliments on the fun Lilly prints. Otherwise, if I'm going out with friends, I like to wear really fun dresses, such as my favorite dress shown above on the right. It's the Georgie Dress from Lilly, and it's honestly the best. It's so summery!! I can also wear it with any sandals I want!

For more casual days, I am usually in nike shorts and a T-shirt or a bikini! I love Lilly and Vineyard Vines bikinis, especially the bandeau styles. I like to pack all my tanning/pool accessories in a tote bag (most likely one from Lilly). When I'm just hanging out at home, I'm always wearing a t-shirt and norts. It's the most comfortable outfit EVER!

What do y'all wear in the summer? Any favorite combinations? Let me know!

Have a fabulous summer day!

Prepping for Prom

Hi y'all!! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Prom is a little less than 1 month away and I can't wait! It's stressful to find a dress and a date, but my friends and I are pulling through. It's our last big event before graduation so we're going to make the most of it!!
Our last couple of weeks of school is really oddly planned, so here's my schedule. I have exams the last week of May (but thank goodness I only have 1!), and then I'm off on my senior class trip. That's only a couple of days, and then I'm back home to get ready for the HUGE week ahead. I have my last day of high school on Monday, and then that night. I don't have school Tuesday, and then I have an award ceremony on Wednesday. Thursday is the big day...GRADUATION!

Since it's so close to prom, I've decided to show y'all my dress!

I love it love it love it love it LOVE IT! It's Lilly Pulitzer from their original Jubilee resort collection from 2007. I got it last year through Re-Lilly (which I totally recommend, I had the best experience with the site!), and Prom seems like the perfect occasion to wear this dress!

It's fully beaded and so pretty. Not to mention, it weighs like 10 pounds! It's so heavy!

For all of the high schoolers who read this blog, what are y'all wearing/did y'all wear to prom? Let me know!!

Have a great day!

Kentucky Derby!!

The Kentucky Derby is tomorrow (which also happens to be Cinco de Mayo and my dad's birthday), so I've put together a how-to fashion post for the big event! Enjoy!

The Kentucky Derby is perfect for sporting your Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines! I prefer seersucker over anything, so I would go straight to Lilly to find a strapless dress. They have a lot of great items in pink, white, and light blue! Also, Vineyard Vines has an adorable patchwork strapless dress for the occasion.

...and you definitely can't forget about the perfect derby hat! My favorite oversize sun-hat of all time is from Marley Lilly. It's great because you can personalize it! What's better than a monogrammed hat to go with your seersucker dress?

Vineyard Vines is the official brand of the Kentucky Derby this year, and I have to say they have really outdone themselves. I have truly fallen in love with VV this year, and I think that they have great items for men! The seersucker suit is just perfect - I love, love, love it. But, if your man doesn't want to dive headfirst into preppy waters, start off with seersucker pants, a blazer, or a seersucker bowtie/tie! My brother has a trillion seersucker ties and bowties and they're great!

What do y'all think is good to wear for the Kentucky Derby? Who's going? Let me know!!

Have a great day!

I didn't take many pictures (too busy!!) but I had an absolutely wonderful time! I learned SO MUCH about the school, and it was nice to walk around a ton so I could get the feel of the school. Also, I got to learn where everything is...I have such a bad sense of direction but the campus is so easy to navigate! I met a couple of people in my class which was nice, and I visited the freshman dorms so I could learn where I'll be spending next year. Funnily enough, I ran into a guy who graduated from my high school while on campus!

At the end of our "campus day," the WF marching band and the Demon Deacon mascot made a grand appearance!! It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to go back in the fall!! Go Deacs!!

Have a great day!!

Love!!

I am SO SO SO excited for this vacation!!

Here is my plane outfit. I don't think that I'll get too hot or too cold, which is a major concern whilst on airplanes. I'm wearing a Vineyard Vines sleeveless polo, a Lilly cardigan, J. Crew bootcut jeans, light pink Jack Rogers, and a Lilly murfee scarf!

Florida awaits!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Lilly Outfit of the Week: Baby (Shorely) Blue Bliss

Hi y'all!! I hope everyone had a great President's Day weekend. Memphis was so much fun and I'm going to post pictures as soon as I can!!

Here is the Lilly mannequin outfit of the week:

I loooove this dress. It's the Jonah dress in Shorely Blue Purring Jacquard from Lilly Pulitzer. It's so pretty but unfortunately I have yet to wear it...it's not weather-appropriate yet for the increasingly colder Connecticut!

The necklace is also from Lilly Pulitzer and I got it for Christmas. It goes perfectly with the dress!! I can't wait until it starts getting warmer so I can wear this outfit.

Have a great day!!

Long Weekend in Memphis

Hi y'all!! I'm heading back down to my hometown this three-day-weekend to visit my father's side of the family!! I haven't been to Memphis in 3 years and it's about time that I visit my grandmother, as well as my aunts/uncles and cousins. My dad's side of the family is huge and it's going to be a lot of fun seeing them all!!

For today (Saturday), I'm going to be wearing something cute yet comfortable to wear on the airplane down to Memphis. Of course I had to include something pink!! The entire outfit, from the jewelry and clothes to the shoes, is from J. Crew.

On Sunday, I expect that we're going to go to church, so I'm bringing one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer fall dresses!! It's one of the most flattering styles and I love this dress!!

For the rest of the day, and so that I don't get too uncomfortable in the dress,  I'm bringing a pink sweater and black flats to pair with either jeans or grey leggings (shown in the picture above). Everything, again, is from J. Crew.

Lastly, for Monday and the plane ride back to Connecticut, I'm wearing a Vineyard Vines striped OCBD and pullover with jeans and flats!

I loooove the luggage that I'm using for this trip to Memphis. I usually use my favorite Lilly Pulitzer pink and orange super huge tote bag, but I got a C. Wonder rolling suitcase for Christmas and I finally have a chance to use it!! It's really bright pink, which I love, because my mother and I were both trying to hunt down a pink suitcase for when we were going on college visits.

I'm also bringing a small tote bag as my other carry on for my homework, my laptop, and for other small random things. It's pink madras!! With my monogram in pink!!

What are y'all doing this President's Day Weekend? Let me know!!

Have a great day!!

Dressing for Winter Formal

Hi y'all!! Sorry I've been MIA for the past week, I honestly couldn't think of any post ideas!! But I'm back!! To catch y'all up, I turned 18 last Tuesday and it was so much fun. I had a great time and I'm happy to be one year older!! I also had a huge charity concert on Saturday night where I sang my first solo!! It was sooo fun and terrifying but I loved it!!

This weekend, I have my last winter formal dance!! It's kind of sad, since I've been to every dance my school offered since 6th grade...but I can't wait to dance and have fun with my friends.

I'm wearing the Lilly Pulitzer Evelyn Dress. I've never worn it before, but I love strapless dresses and black is always flattering!!

My brother gave me this necklace for my birthday and I'm going to wear it with the dress.

I'm not exactly sure which shoes I'm going to be wearing, but most likely sparkly silver or black heels!!

What do y'all think? I'm going to take a ton of pictures of the night's festivities so I'll post them after the dance!!

Have a great day!!

Confusing Weather, Cute Outfits

Right now in Connecticut, it will rain while it's sunny, or it will snow for a minute then go back to 50 degree weather. It is driving me crazy. The weather here is so annoying and it's January!!  It's supposed to get colder (though I'm doubtful), but until then, I'm going to continue to make versatile outfits that can brace CT's random and confusing climate!!

The first outfit is kind of my go-to outfit. You can't really go wrong with a Ralph Lauren/Rugby oxford button down shirt, a cableknit crewneck/v-neck, and jeans. I will wear this outfit from end of September to about end of March (when I am craving Lilly shifts so badly that I will risk hypothermia for pink and green), and it never lets me down. When the weather is nicer, I'll wear the vest and the riding boots, but when it starts to get snowy and gross, I'll wear an actual jacket and the ever-fabulous Bean Boots.

The second outfit is for when I'm sick of the first outfit. I really like wearing a skirt, tights, and boots because it's a good way to look nice without compromising my legs to frostbite, and also, when it's warmer, I don't die of heatstroke. I like tucking in the J. Crew camel sweater into the J. Crew wool mini skirt, sometimes belted, with some kind of statement necklace...usually from J. Crew. On the other hand, I like wearing a tank top/t-shirt with a cardigan and a scarf. It's very relaxed and can take you from hot to cold and vice versa.

Lastly, here is my compilation of versatile outerwear for wherever the weather takes you. I got the Rugby Navy Blue down vest for Christmas and I am so obsessed with it, I loveeeeee it and I highly recommend it. It is perfect!! Barbour coats are great for the transition from fall to winter, and they are light enough to not be a burden, yet thick enough to not risk your health on colder days. A dress coat is good for warm and cold days, and I love my J. Crew ruffle coat from a couple of years ago. It's great for going out and about, as well as going to nice dinners.

I hope this helps y'all!!

And finally, I am not a complete cripple anymore for I am able to walk around without crutches! I still have a little bootie to wear but it's no hassle. My stitches only hurt a little bit but otherwise the surgery went very well! It's still really nice to have a long weekend!!! What are y'all doing for the MLK weekend? Let me know!!

Have a great day!!

xoxo, Hannah
